Maine used to have hundreds of covered bridges across the state.

Now only eight remain. Three of them are in Southern Maine.

This includes one covered bridge that's minutes from Portland, Maine.

It's called the Babb's Bridge in Windham/ Gorham Maine, close to Portland.

It spans the Presumpscot River and was completely rebuilt in 1973 after a fire.

Next up is the Porter- Parsonsfield Bridge, over the Ossippee River.

Then there is Hemlock Bridge in Fryeburg, Maine, over a portion of the Saco River.

Lots of people like to visit this bridge after attending the annual Fryeburg Fair in October.
