Event Details

Do you enjoy spending time outside? Are you curious about our environment? Would you like to incorporate drawing, painting, or writing into your life more regularly?

Join us for an introduction to nature journaling. Together, we will learn about the benefits of observing nature, get tips about how to start a journal, and share ideas that can help guide our entries. We will also take time to notice what is around us and record our discoveries.

This program will be led by Cordelia Hill, a Maine Master Naturalist and social worker who loves the library and being outside whenever she has the opportunity.

We will plan to be indoors and outdoors (weather permitting).

Space is limited to 10 people. Ages 12 and up. Registration is required.

Please bring something to write, draw, or paint with along with a blank notebook or sketchbook.  We will also have pencils and paper available.

The library is committed to making services available to everyone. All events at PPL buildings are wheelchair accessible. Some library programs take place outdoors or offsite at partner organizations and businesses. Persons requiring special assistance are encouraged to discuss needs with the contact listed for the event.

Please note that this event will take place outdoors. We encourage you to bring sunscreen, water, and weather-appropriate clothing. Rain or snow dates will be determined and communicated by staff if needed.

For more information, visit the Portland Public Library website.
