For the longest time, Thursday trivia at Feile in Wells was our go-to weekly event. However, a schedule conflict forced us to switch nights, so we moved to Tuesday’s at Pepper’s Landing in Ogunquit. The food is excellent albeit a bit more expensive than Feile. Matt, the trivia master, has a fantastic sense of humor and plays great music between questions. Gretchen the bartender is attentive as can be.
My go-to is the fish tacos ($17). If I’m up for the splurge, at about round five in the trivia game, I order the pub pretzel ($14), which is bigger than my head. Both never disappoint. Pepper’s has a points-based loyalty program so becoming a regular can pay off.
My biggest criticism of trivia night at Pepper’s has nothing to do with the restaurant. Parking in Ogunquit is challenging, so we typically end up in a paid lot. At $15 for the evening, this adds a lot to the cost of the night out. As a result, we may shop around a bit for Tuesday night trivia until our Thursday’s open up again.
