I’ve just updated this article on Easter egg hunts that towns and organizations put together for kids. Due to the inclement weather in Southern Maine on Maine Maple Weekend, many of the planned Easter egg hunts have moved to Saturday, March 30. Now onto the original article.
Where you’ll find Easter egg hunts near you
I’ve put together this list of Easter egg hunts happening in 2024. Most are occuring before Easter, which is March 31, 2024 this year. However, at least one is held after Easter is over. One is in Lebanon, Maine. The other is a benefit for the Animal Welfare Society in West Kennebunk.
Some of these Easter egg hunts go up against Maine Maple Weekend. So, maybe visit a sugarhouse in the morning, then hunt for Easter eggs in the afternoon? Or vice versa, based on timing?
Couple an Easter egg hunt with a visit to see the Easter Bunny at the Maine Mall. You’ll be making great memories for yourself and your family.
Finally, unless specified otherwise, these Easter egg hunts are free and for younger children only. If any are designed for preteens or teenagers — or even adults — I’ll let you know.
This article is a work in progress. As I come across more information, I’ll add to this post. If I’ve missed an event you’re organizing, please post a comment, with details and a link, so I can check it out.

The 4th Annual Laura’s Legacy of Love Community Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Saturday, March 23rd at 1pm, with a rain/snow date on Sunday March 24th at 1pm. All of the festivities occur at Alfred Park, 24 School St, Alfred, Maine.
Berwick’s Easter Egg Extravaganza
Berwick is holding its annual Easter Egg Extravaganza on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Memorial Field. However, the Recreation Department website hasn’t updated information from 2023 yet. So, I don’t know what time this year’s hunt is.
Biddeford Youth Easter Egg Hunt
Biddeford Recreation is hosting its annual Youth Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday March 30th at the Biddeford Primary School, 320 Hill Street. This event is provided free of charge to the residents of Biddeford! However, they ask that you register in advance on the Biddeford Recreation website so they can get a head count.

The Falmouth Congregational Church UCC, at 267 Falmouth Rd, is hosting its annual Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 30, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. That’s rain or shine — or snow. This is Maine, after all.

Kennebunk
There are two very different Easter-related events happening in Kennebunk. One is a legit egg hunt. The other is less about Easter and more about celebrating spring.
Youth Egg Hunt
Kennebunk Parks and Recreation is holding three different Easter egg hunts this year. All are on March 23.
Timing and location is based on your child’s age. Two occur at the Waterhouse Center on Main Street, where I snapped the picture of this marquis advertising the event. The other location is Parsons Field on Park Street.
- 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.: Ages 2 and under
- 10:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.: Ages 3 and 4
- 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.: Ages 5 to 10
Be sure to bring your own basket to collect goodies. Also, new this year: children will have to find six different colored eggs (eggs are empty) and return them to the Waterhouse Center Egg Hunt Table to collect a bunny prize bag!
The egg hunt will be held rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, the ages 5-10 egg hunt will be moved to the Waterhouse Center.
AWS Animal Welfare Society Bunny Hop
This is the second annual AWS Youth Program’s Bunny Hop. As I mentioned, it’s not so much an Easter egg hunt as more of a springtime event. You and your children can enjoy interactions with springtime animals, make crafts, and hear stories.
The Bunny Hop is on Friday, April 12, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Holland Road park in West Kennebunk. It is practically across the road from the Animal Welfare Society location. 2pm – 4pm.
Note: this is not an event for you to bring your pets. So, please leave them at home.

For a fee, children can do an Easter egg hunt in the Westbrook Community Center pool or participate in a cupcake decorating class. Visit the Westbrook Community Center Facebook page for more details.
