Antonio Rey with Special Guest Juanito Pascual

POSTED BY
Leah Ingram

Two-time Latin Grammy-winner Antonio Rey is recognized as one of the top flamenco guitarists of his generation. Renowned for his virtuosity, tone, and soulful compositions, he has triumphed in Spain’s prestigious guitar competitions and received numerous awards, including Spain’s “National Guitar Award,” shared by artists like Paco de Lucia and Vicente Amigo.

Rey’s 2024 album Historias de un Flamenco won the Latin Grammy for “Best Flamenco Album of the Year” and was nominated for a Grammy in 2025. He also won the 2020 Latin Grammy for Flamenco Sin Fronteras.

He frequently performs at major venues worldwide, including Carnegie Hall and Madrid’s Teatro Real, and has worked with flamenco legends such as Paco de Lucia, Farruquito, and Antonio Canales, as well as international stars like Alejandro Sanz, Pablo Alboran, Richard Bona, and Al di Meola. Antonio is hailed as Paco de Lucia’s successor, captivating global audiences with his performances.

Joining Rey on tour is flamenco virtuoso Juanito Pascual, a New England Conservatory alum praised by the Boston Globe as a “flamenco phenom.” Known for blending flamenco, jazz, and blues, Pascual has performed at prestigious events like Lincoln Center and the Aspen Jazz Festival and collaborated with icons like Jorge Pardo and John Patitucci. Pascual has also earned acclaim for his three albums of original compositions.
