GRACE PETTIS:
Grace Pettis’ highly anticipated sophomore album Down to the Letter marks the Nashville-based singer-songwriter at the height of her songwriting ability. The album explores the painful end of a marriage, self-reclamation after betrayal, and the universal journey of healing. Known for her ability to express personal pain with universal resonance, Pettis partners once again with producer Mary Bragg, who also produced her 2021 debut Working Woman. Bragg, along with musician Josh Kaler, created a more intimate atmosphere for recording, opting for a home studio setting in Nashville, which allowed Pettis to be emotionally vulnerable and achieve the raw vocal performances the project demanded.

The album features Pettis’ heartfelt vocals and acoustic guitar, with contributions from Bragg, Kaler, and other Nashville musicians. The resulting sound combines aching ballads like “Horses” and “Sobering Up” with the bold attitude of tracks like “Rain” and “I Didn’t Break This.” Guest vocals from Bragg, Robby Hecht, and Emily Scott Robinson round out the collection. Pettis also showcases two co-writes: “When Nobody’s Watching” and “The Year of Losing Things.”
