Join us for this four-part series on how ageism impacts healthy aging in our community and learn how you can become an AGEnt for change. This program is presented by the Maine Council on Aging. Registration is required.
What is Ageism?
Ageism is stereotyping, prejudice, bias or discrimination on the basis of age.
People with age-positive views and culture live longer, experience less depression and anxiety, and have a lower risk of chronic conditions like diabetes, stroke, cancer and heart disease.
What is a Community Conversation?
Community conversations are structured, small group discussions with members of a community, designed to better understand their thoughts and views on particular topics. The Community Conversation toolkit is designed to promote thoughtful, constructive, collaborative, empowering dialogue about growing older and infusing age-positivity into our communities.
