We’ve been celebrating Maine Maple Sunday for years. However, now it is legit official. Here’s why.
Official Resolution about Maine Maple Sunday
Maine’s two U.S. Senators Susan Collins and Angus King introduced a resolution designating the Sunday of Maine Maple Weekend officially as “Maine Maple Sunday.” The resolution passed unanimously.
“Maine is proud to be the one of the country’s largest maple syrup producers, and the home to the best tasting syrup in the world. For generations, Maine people have come together with friends and family each spring to tap trees, boil sap, and make this delicious product,” said Senators Collins and King, in a press release about the resolution. “Maine Maple Sunday celebrates this long tradition, highlights the excellence of the maple industry, and recognizes the contributions of the small-maple businesses across our state.”
