The first Friday in June is always National Doughnut Day or Donut Day if you like to spell it that way. Either way, that means that Friday, June 7, 2024 is a day when you may be able to find free or cheap doughnuts/donuts in Maine.
Where to go on National Donut Day in Maine
When I’d included National Doughnut Day in my roundup of free food holidays, I’d mentioned that Cumberland Farms and Dunkin’ had offers in the past. Also, that I expected that The Holy Donut in Portland, Scarborough and Arundel might have something to offer. So let me tell you what I found at these places and more.
The Holy Donut
According to The Holy Donut Facebook page, on National Doughnut Day 2024 you’ll be able to get doughnuts at a steep discount. You can get a half dozen for $12; normally six doughnuts cost $21. Also, you can get a baker’s dozen (13) in store for $24. Normally they’re $42.
Yes, these are expensive donuts. But if you want to eat ones made from potato flour, The Holy Donut is the place to go.
Congdon’s Doughnuts
Not gonna lie: Congdon’s Doughnuts in Wells is my favorite place in Maine to get traditional doughnuts. So I’m thrilled to report that they are participating in National Donut Day 2024.
According to the Congdon’s Facebook page, each guest receives a free doughnut with their purchase. That is limited to one free doughnut per order. So, it’s a BOGO — buy one, get one. Be sure to visit between 6am and 2pm, their regular business hours.
Dunkin’
According to my colleagues at Living on the Cheap, you’ll be able to get a classic doughnut for free on June 7, when you purchase a beverage. This announcement on the Dunkin’ news page confirmed the deal:
“National Donut Day is synonymous with free donuts at Dunkin’, and this year is no different. On June 7, head to any Dunkin’ location nationwide to enjoy a free classic donut of your choice with the purchase of any beverage while supplies last.”

Final thoughts
I couldn’t find anything current about Cumberland Farms participating in this doughnut holiday. If you know differently, I’d love to hear from you.
