Museums for All is a new-to-me program. What is Museums for All?
“[T]hose receiving food assistance (SNAP benefits) can gain free or reduced admission to more than 1,000 museums throughout the United States simply by presenting their SNAP EBT (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Electronic Benefit Transfer) card.”
Museums for All
The idea behind Museums for All is this: museum admissions costs are often a barrier for many low-income families. They may want to visit local museums, but their budget won’t allow for it.
With this program, families pay as little as nothing (sometimes as much as $3) for up to four people. All you need to do is bring your EBT card with you to receive this reduced or free museum admission.
Museums for All locations in Southern Maine
There are seven participating museums in Southern Maine. Four are part of Historic New England.
All four Historic New England museums have the same admission policy for EBT cardholders, as part of the Museums for All program. It is this:
“EBT cardholders can show their card for $2 admission to house tours for up to four guests per card.”
Here are the participating Museums for All locations, by location, in Southern Maine.
