If you’re visiting the Maine seacoast, then you know that low tide is the perfect time to visit the beach.
That’s because in Southern Maine, when it’s high tide, there is no sandy beach. The water goes right up to the sea wall.
Low tide at Wells and Kennebunk beaches
At least that’s the case with the beaches in Wells and Kennebunk, two popular places to visit in the summer.
So, we’ve put together this tides chart to let you know when low tide is this weekend and the coming week. It covers low tide in the next seven days, so sure to include at least one weekend day.
We’ll continue to update this post as the tides change–they usually are about 50 minutes later each day.
Also, the tides at Wells beaches are about 10 minutes ahead of the tides at Kennebunk beaches. Unfortunately, though, our “events” tool only rounds to the nearest half hour. So that’s what you’ll see below.
Finally, we’re focusing on tidal times during daylight hours only. And, during the high summer season only–between June 15th, when beaches open for real, and Labor Day.
