Before you know it, school will be out and you’ll be looking for things to do with your kids. One of the free and cheap things you can on a summer day — especially on a rainy day in Southern Maine — is go to the movies. That’s where the Regal Summer Movie Express program comes in.
Regal Summer Movie Express in Maine and NH
For Summer 2025, Regal Summer Movie Express offers 18 different family-friendly movies from June 10, 2025 through August 6, 2025. There are only two Regal movie theater locations close to Southern Maine or relatively close. One is in Augusta. The other is in Newington, New Hampshire, which is just over the border from Kittery, Maine and next door to Portsmouth, New Hampshire. That’s an easy drive from York County.
We’ve written about Regal cinemas before when talking about National Popcorn Day promotions and whatnot. At that time there was a Regal Theatre location in Brunswick but that one closed in 2023. But back to the summer promotion, which includes $1, yes one dollar, movie tickets.

The Regal Summer Movie Express 2025 movie lineup features two PG movies every Tuesday and Wednesday at 11 a.m. — from June 10 to Aug. 6, 2025. Showtimes may vary by location.

Again, admission is only $1 per ticket — with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Tickets are available at the theatre box office and kiosks, on the Regal app and at REGMovies.com.
